Feminine Health Advisor, Vagisil Women's Health Center®

Faye Wattleton has long been a pioneer on women's issues. She is currently president of the Center for the Advancement of Women, a not-for-profit research organization, dedicated to the advancement of women’s equality and full participation in society, and is the former president of Planned Parenthood Federation of America (PPFA). Adding to these credentials, she is now aligning with the Vagisil Women's Health Center® (VWHC) for a public education campaign, "Feminine Health Myths & Misconceptions: What You Don't Know Can Hurt You." The 2003 campaign is designed to help educate women about feminine health concerns and to counter many common feminine health myths and misconceptions.

Ms. Wattleton, a campaign advisor, says, "It is imperative that women have accurate information as the foundation to being proactive about health care. Otherwise, women are left trying to decide what is and isn't true, which can be confusing and ultimately, detrimental to our well being."

She added, "I am thrilled to be working with a program that focuses on a number of feminine health topics – from genital health to reproductive health to menopause – with a solid team of health experts to ensure the accuracy of this important information campaign."

Ms. Wattleton, holding a master of science degree in maternal and infant care, with certification as a nurse-midwife from Columbia University, is an acknowledged leader in women's reproductive health. She played a major role in defining the national debate over reproductive rights and health, as well as in shaping family planning policies and programs around the world as the first and youngest woman president of the PPFA.

A celebrated lecturer on the issues of women's equality, health care and civil rights, Ms. Wattleton serves on the boards of directors for corporations and organizations, including Columbia University, Empire Blue Cross and Blue Shield, Institute for International Education, and the United Nations Association of the United States of America.
